Information we collect

When you complete a form, email us, call us or work with us, we may collect:

  • Your name, business name and job role.
  • Your email address, telephone number and postal address.
  • Details of your website, requirements, enquiry and correspondence with us.
  • Information needed to provide our services, manage your account or process an order.
  • Your marketing preferences and records of consent or requests to stop receiving marketing.

Our website and its service providers may also process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, security logs and information about how the website is used. Optional analytics and advertising technologies are subject to the choices described below.

Providing enquiry information is voluntary, but we may be unable to respond or provide a requested service without the relevant contact or order details. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary and we have agreed a suitable way to handle it.

How we use your information

We use personal information only where we have an appropriate lawful basis.

Responding to enquiries and preparing proposals
Our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us and developing business relationships. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, we may rely on taking those steps.
Providing services and fulfilling orders
Performing a contract with you, or our legitimate interests in delivering services to a business you represent and managing that relationship.
Business records and legal requirements
Complying with legal obligations, including applicable accounting and tax requirements, and our legitimate interests in managing and protecting our business.
Marketing and website measurement
Consent where required, or legitimate interests where appropriate and permitted. Our marketing interests include promoting relevant website and marketing services to business contacts. We consider those interests alongside your rights and reasonable expectations.
Website operation and security
Our legitimate interests in keeping the website available, preventing misuse and investigating technical or security issues.

Email marketing

Where you choose to receive our tips or marketing updates, we use your details for that purpose. You can withdraw your consent or unsubscribe at any time.

We may also contact relevant business professionals about our services where there is an appropriate business interest and the law permits it. We assess whether legitimate interests is an appropriate basis for using personal data and comply with the separate electronic marketing rules under PECR.

The rules distinguish corporate subscribers, such as limited companies, from individuals, sole traders and some partnerships. Where consent is required, we obtain it unless a valid exception applies.

A website visit or resource download does not by itself give permission to send marketing emails where consent is required.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option. You can also contact us to object to direct marketing. We stop using your details for that purpose and may retain a minimal suppression record to help ensure you are not contacted again by mistake.

Cookies and measurement

We use necessary technologies to operate the website and remember your privacy choices. Where we use optional analytics or advertising technologies, we ask for consent before activating them.

You can review or change your choices using Cookie settings in the footer. Changing a cookie preference does not automatically unsubscribe you from email marketing; use the unsubscribe link or contact us for that.

Digital products and purchase information

When you purchase a digital product from us, we use relevant contact and transaction details to complete your order and provide access to the product.

Where we use Google Analytics, Google Ads or similar services to measure marketing performance, we do so in line with applicable law and, where required, your consent preferences. This may involve limited transaction information or pseudonymised or hashed identifiers. Hashing does not necessarily make information anonymous, so data protection requirements may still apply.

Who we share information with

We use service providers to help operate our website and business, including hosting, email, form handling, customer relationship management and professional advisers. Our website enquiry forms use HubSpot. Where enabled with the appropriate permissions, Google services may process information for analytics or advertising measurement.

We share only the information needed for the relevant purpose and use appropriate contractual arrangements where providers process personal information on our behalf. Providers may also have their own responsibilities under data protection law.

We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

International transfers

Some service providers may process or access information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer takes place, we must ensure an appropriate transfer mechanism applies, such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards, together with any required assessment.

Consent is not the only mechanism for international transfers. Contact us if you would like information about the safeguards relevant to your personal information.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. The relevant period depends on the information and our relationship with you.

  • Enquiry records are kept while we respond and for any reasonable follow-up connected with the enquiry.
  • Client and order records are kept for the relationship and for as long as needed afterwards to meet legal, accounting and contractual requirements or deal with disputes.
  • Marketing records are reviewed for relevance and retained only while there is an appropriate basis to use them.
  • Minimal suppression records may be kept to respect an objection or unsubscribe request.
  • Technical records are retained according to their operational, security and troubleshooting purpose. Optional measurement data is subject to the relevant service settings and your consent choices.

When information is no longer needed, it should be securely deleted or anonymised. You can contact us for further information about the retention period that applies to your records.

Accuracy and security

We take reasonable steps to keep information accurate and use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

If your details change or you believe we hold inaccurate information, please contact us so we can check and correct it. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis involved, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Ask us to erase information where the right applies.
  • Ask us to restrict how we use your information.
  • Receive certain information in a portable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and object to direct marketing at any time.
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

These rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions. Contact us to make a request. We may need information to verify your identity before responding.
